Bobby Shmurda's GS9 Crew Member Gets 98 Years to Life in Prison

Bobby Shmurda’s GS9 member Rashid Derissant has been sentenced to 98 1/3 to life in prison. Derissant was convicted on 22 counts including conspiracy, murder, attempted murder and assault.

Back 2013, Derissant fatally gunned down a 19-year-old rival in a Brooklyn bodega. He attempted to kill three others in the same incident, according to the office of Special Narcotics Prosecutor Bridget Brennan.

One year later, Derissant shot a 22-year-old woman, an innocent bystander, in the neck and hip, prosecutors said.

As for Bobby Shmurda, his case has not gone to trial yet. The rapper’s trial was supposed to begin earlier this month, but the date has been postponed. Shmurda’s now scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 12.
